Slkor’s general manager Song Shiqiang was interviewed by a well-known media platform named eefocus, and he made a unique analysis of the following questions about the status quo and future development of the power device industry. For instance, what gap and challenges still exist between the domestic power semiconductor manufactures and international giants? The valuation of semiconductor enterprises in the second-class capital market has been significantly reduced compared with the previous few years, and will it have some impact on the financing of these semiconductor start-ups in the primary market in the future? The shortage of semiconductors has been plaguing the electronics industry, what will happen to the shortage of chips in the next one or two years?
At present, the global high-end application market and technology of power devices are almost monopolized by foreign enterprises. In recent years, domestic power device manufacturers have been striving to catch up, and the technical gap between the international first-class enterprises and them is gradually shrinking. Similar to the new generation of semiconductor materials, such as SiC and GaN, they have excellent performance in electric field strength, thermal conductivity, band gap, and migration speed, which have become the focus of research and development of domestic power semiconductor manufacturers striving to seek breakthrough.
Song Shiqiang, founder of Slkor, perceives that the market opportunities of power devices are quite good for domestic manufacturers, and they have the opportunity to catch up with foreign counterparts with their service advantages because of the low process requirements of the power device industry and the independent and controllable supply chain.
