Kinghelm connect world
Applying knowledge to practice, integrating theory with action. Learning is for better implementation, and true understanding comes from practical experience. To prepare myself for the lessons of society in advance, I undertook an internship at Kinghelm this summer. Each day is filled with new challenges and opportunities for growth. For instance, on July 11th, we, as summer interns of Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.net), visited the company's factory and smart warehouse with SlkorMicro Summer Workers, gaining insights into production processes and warehouse management at Kinghelm. This visit was highly beneficial, reinforcing the idea that "seeing is believing, and doing is understanding."
Broaden horizons, apply knowledge
Li Jianhui, Warehouse Manager of Kinghelm (far right), warmly welcomed us
Upon arrival at the warehouse, Li Jianhui, Warehouse Manager at Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.net), warmly welcomed us. Manager Li guided us through the warehouse, providing detailed explanations of product characteristics and the overall layout of product placement. He also patiently addressed each of our questions and concerns, deepening not only our understanding of Kinghelm's products but also enhancing our comprehension of warehouse management.
The warehouse layout at Kinghelm is clearly planned with distinct areas effectively utilizing space. It is mainly divided into office areas, storage zones, quality inspection areas, and packaging zones. It is said that warehouse staff each have their designated roles and willingly take turns in cleaning duties. This reflects Kinghelm's corporate culture emphasizing "details," as highlighted by Mr. Song Shiqiang, the General Manager, who stresses that "personal hygiene and appearance can reflect one's character, which also determines their ability to accomplish tasks," echoing the ancient proverb, "if one can't clean one's own house, how can they clean the world?"
The corporate cultures of Kinghelm and SlkorMicro
Upon entering the storage area, a variety of products came into view. The space was not large but well-organized. Each category of products was neatly arranged with product stock cards, detailing the model, in/out timestamps, quantities, and remaining inventory from quarterly counts. Supervisor Li Jianhui introduced us to recent popular products at Kinghelm such as KH-TYPE-C-16P, KH-TYPE-C-2P, as well as various RF cables, and tactile switches, which provided us with substantial insights and knowledge.

Supervisor Li Jianhui also explained to us the warehouse management process: The layout of the warehouse places high-volume products near the exit for easier shipment handling. Upon receiving products, a random sample undergoes quality inspection to ensure compliance with standards before being placed into inventory. Following the company's production and sales plans, and closely monitoring industry trends, they maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts. During shipments, products are packed, weighed, and inventory is promptly updated according to orders. They promptly follow up on shipping orders and handle claims with logistics companies for any damaged or lost products during transit. Quarterly inventory audits ensure alignment with stock records, promptly identifying and addressing any discrepancies to adjust inventory plans accordingly.

The power of action enhances understanding, and deeper understanding improves action. In summary, the key process of warehouse management can be described as "receive, manage, store, issue, and inventory." This process embodies the practical application of the "Plan-Do-Check-Act" (PDCA) management theory, as previously trained by Mr. Song Shiqiang, General Manager of Kinghelm. It involves planning product quantities, conducting inbound/outbound operations as per requirements, inspecting incoming and outgoing products for quality, and promptly addressing any issues encountered in products or logistics. This approach authentically integrates theory into company management, emphasizing that practice originates from textbooks but surpasses them. It profoundly enlightens me to tightly integrate theoretical learning with practical application in future studies and work, avoiding mere replication and instead striving for adaptation and innovation.
Good questioning leads to ample knowledge, while doubt fosters progress
Before departing, Kinghelm and Slkor-propagation Department Manager Huang Dejun specifically advised us, "Bring questions with you; it's easier to learn that way." This echoes the words of Dong Zhongshu: "A noble person does not hide their shortcomings; when they do not know, they ask; when they cannot, they learn." Diligence in questioning and seeking answers leads to progress.
I once wondered: Why set up the warehouse separately at a different location instead of near the production workshop, which could save costs on space, manpower, and resources, and also facilitate quick handling and shipping? Today, this doubt finally received an answer. Supervisor Li Jianhui explained, "The production workshop focuses primarily on the production process itself, not on managing and circulating products. Separate management is advantageous for enhancing efficiency and accuracy, ensuring smooth production activities. Most importantly, the 'factory in front, warehouse in rear' arrangement is favorable for customer visits to understand products, considering both the overall environment and transportation convenience, which are superior to the factory's environment and geographic location."
Profound reflections and future prospects
At this point in my writing, emotions are deeply intertwined. Though my visit to the warehouse was brief, it was immensely beneficial and served as a significant opportunity for personal growth. Not only did I gain firsthand and in-depth understanding of Kinghelm's products, but I also acquired knowledge of warehouse management processes. I deeply appreciate the orderly, standardized, and mature warehouse management at Kinghelm, which is attributed to the efficient and systematic management approach of Mr. Song Shiqiang, the General Manager. This achievement also reflects the well-established warehouse management system at Kinghelm and the diligent responsibilities of the warehouse personnel.
I will forever cherish this valuable experience and regard it as a precious asset for my future learning and career path. It strengthens my resolve to continue growing and advancing. I take this opportunity to sincerely thank Supervisor Li Jianhui and others for their warm hospitality, detailed introductions, and patient explanations amidst their busy schedules. I also express gratitude to mentor Huang Zhiling for her dedicated guidance and assistance during this process. Furthermore, I am grateful to General Manager Song Shiqiang for leading multiple training sessions, which deeply enlightened me that epistemology forms the foundation of methodology, and methodology is the development and application of epistemology. As the saying goes, every mountain has its peak, every lake has its far shore. With a long road ahead, the future holds promise! May we continue on this journey, blossoming along the way, until we meet at the summit!
