The Spring Festival is a symbol of joy and reunion, as well as a perfect time to explore cultural heritage. This year, I spent the holiday in Shenzhen and decided to take this special opportunity to visit the Shenzhen Museum (Ancient Art Museum) to explore those ancient and precious memories.

As soon as I stepped into the museum, I was immediately drawn to the unique capsule-shaped elevator. As it slowly ascended, my anticipation grew. Upon reaching the top-floor exhibition hall, an exciting cultural journey began.

The first stop was the "Sitting and Lying Comfortably" exhibit, where ancient beds and couches were displayed, quietly narrating the daily lives of the ancients. A beautifully carved canopy bed with intricate wooden sculptures on the surrounding rails caught my attention, with vivid depictions of people, birds, and plants. Although the canopy above was worn with age, I could still imagine the warmth and comfort it once provided. The simple yet elegant couch, with its clean lines, showcased the ancient pursuit of balance between practicality and beauty. Standing before these beds and couches, I could almost feel the ancients resting, chatting, or reclining on them.

Next, I entered the "Mysterious Pearls and Calculations" exhibit, showcasing ancient calculation tools and wisdom. Abacuses, counting rods, and mathematical texts were displayed, transporting me back to an era when people relied on intellect and skill for calculations. The meticulously crafted abacuses, with their smooth beads, seemed to echo the crisp sounds of ancient mathematicians working. I was deeply impressed by the ancient scholars' ingenuity in achieving remarkable mathematical feats without the help of modern technology.

The "Jikin Spring and Autumn" exhibit was steeped in rich historical significance. Ancient bronze vessels stood solemnly, as if telling stories from the past. These variously shaped ritual vessels ranged from grand and majestic to small and delicate, with inscriptions and patterns that recorded ancient rituals, ceremonies, and politics. The exquisite bronze drinking and dining vessels displayed superb craftsmanship, offering a testament to the development of ancient civilizations, making me ponder the distant past.

Finally, I entered the "Journey Through Ceramics" exhibit. The colorful and beautiful ceramic works were truly captivating. From ancient pottery to exquisite Ming and Qing porcelain, each piece carried the cultural and aesthetic significance of its time. The vibrant Tang Sancai, the graceful Qinghua porcelain, and the delicate Fencai porcelain all left a lasting impression. I carefully examined each piece’s patterns and colors, deeply feeling the legacy of craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

During the Spring Festival, the museum was bustling with visitors. Families came together, with children eagerly exploring and elders joyfully sharing stories of the past; young couples, hand in hand, paused in front of the exhibits, feeling the charm of ancient art. Laughter and conversation filled the air, bringing new vitality and life to the once-quiet Ancient Art Museum.

The allure of ancient art was truly unforgettable.

When I left the museum and stepped into the spring sunshine, I felt a deep sense of reflection. This Spring Festival visit to the museum not only deepened my understanding and appreciation of traditional culture but also made this holiday feel more fulfilling and meaningful.
