Vision of Struggle: "If one day I can achieve my lofty ambitions, I’ll dare to laugh at Huang Chao for not being a true man!"
Chen Haifeng, HR at Kinghelm and Slkor
"Life is not just about the mundane; it also holds poetry and distant places." For me, someone who has been working in Shenzhen for eight years, this sentence carries countless expectations and aspirations. Having returned to Shenzhen early this year, on the fifth day of the lunar new year, I took my son to the long-awaited Gankeng Ancient Town for a unique Spring Festival parent-child trip.
When I first set foot in this town full of Hakka flavor, an indescribable complex feeling surged within me. The scene before my eyes was different from the one I had imagined, but at certain moments, it felt strangely familiar, as though a dream was merging with reality. Perhaps it was due to my change in identity—now a working mom—I had a different perspective. The pure innocence and curiosity I once had for the world had gradually faded with the passage of time, replaced by my commitment to work and my meticulous care for my child's life, education, and healthy growth. Every day, I hustle between work and family, physically exhausted yet spiritually fulfilled. Since I’ve made my choices, even though the road ahead may be full of thorns, I will persist and move forward. Just like how I switched careers midway to enter this industry and position, once I set a goal, I’ll stick with it and make sure I do it well.
As I strolled through Gankeng Ancient Town, my son’s laughter echoed through the air like the sound of silver bells. He darted between the stalls, fully immersed in his joyful time. When playing ring toss, he focused intently, eyes fixed on the target, throwing the ring with all his might. When it landed on the toy, he cheered with excitement. When playing claw machine, he was nervous yet expectant, carefully manipulating the joystick. When leaving the store, he wore a reluctant expression, full of regret for not winning a stuffed animal.
After tiring himself out, he tugged at my hand, leading me to try various foods: the sweet and smooth milk tea, chewy and bouncy bowl cakes, soft cakes, and melt-in-your-mouth handmade jelly—all of which delighted him. Watching his satisfied face, my heart swelled with happiness. That night, as he lay in bed, he even drooled with excitement in his sleep. A child’s world is so simple and pure, and joy comes so easily.
Every corner of the town is filled with strong New Year’s vibes. Storefronts, houses, and fences are all adorned with positive New Year’s blessings. Phrases like "Become Rich," "Fortune Rolls In" are direct yet filled with hope, expressing people's desires for wealth; "May the New Year bring continuous good luck," "Wishing you good fortune," these simple and heartfelt blessings reflect people's hopeful expectations for a bright future. The word "Fu" (福) is placed prominently, symbolizing abundant fortune and continuous good luck. "The winds of wealth have arrived in the New Year" is both romantic and poetic, filling people with anticipation for the upcoming year. "Like stars wishing for you in the New Year," evokes dreams and romance, as if one could see the longing under the starry sky. "GET RICH" and "WIN" are concise and powerful, reflecting a positive and energetic attitude. "Money to spend, love to share, peace and smoothness, all your wishes come true, stars shining, and luck always with you"—these blessings cover every aspect of life, embodying the hopes people have for a good life.
These blessings—whether direct, subtle, humorous, or poetic—blend seamlessly with the town’s Hakka architecture and red lanterns, creating a unique New Year scene that leaves every visitor immersed in the rich New Year atmosphere.
During my day in Gankeng Ancient Town, I not only witnessed my son’s joy and felt the festive atmosphere, but I also reflected on my life. The challenges and fatigue of life seemed insignificant at that moment. The road ahead may still be full of challenges, but as long as I keep my passion for life alive and have my family by my side, I believe that no matter what happens, I will be able to face it with courage.
Kinghelm and Slkor:
To motivate employees and attract talent as part of the effort to go public, Kinghelm and Slkor have introduced an equity (stock option) incentive plan. Internal employees will be allocated equity shares based on seniority, ability, and contributions, while external partners who help connect resources can also enjoy similar benefits. The company is currently fully funded by Song Shiqiang and has received a small investment from a high-net-worth capital mogul from Tsinghua University’s wireless EE85 class. Both companies are experiencing rapid and stable growth, gradually opening up overseas markets. New product research, development, production, and sales are progressing in an orderly manner, and the "four pillars" of the company ensuring healthy development are now in place. "Kinghelm" and "Salkor" have already become international brands, and various metrics are rapidly approaching the standards required for listing on the Sci-Tech Innovation Board.
