The estimated global satellite market revenue is expected to reach $357 billion USD by 2025

According to the latest report "Key Drivers of Satellite Industry Development - Analysis of Low Earth Orbit Satellite Supply Chain Strategies and Challenges" by TrendForce, as global user penetration rates for low Earth orbit satellite services continue to rise, various global satellite component suppliers are entering into the supply chains of the two major satellite manufacturers, Starlink and OneWeb. It is estimated that from 2021 to 2025, the global satellite market revenue will increase from $283 billion to $357 billion USD, with a CAGR of 2.6%.

TrendForce points out that Starlink currently adopts a Vertical Integration strategy, producing critical satellite components such as payload channel elements, Ka-band antenna components, filters, and separators in its own factory in Washington, USA. By employing an In-House production model for satellite components, Starlink effectively manages production status and reduces complex supply chain management operations.

In contrast, OneWeb adopts a highly outsourced supply chain approach, where critical satellite components are manufactured by regional Tier 2 component factories and then assembled into subsystems at dedicated factories before being returned to OneWeb's own factory, OneWeb Satellite, for satellite assembly. By maintaining an open supply chain system, OneWeb collaborates with numerous component factories to penetrate the low Earth orbit satellite market effectively.
